A lot of people visit Disneyland Paris every year. Those people are of all ages.
Sometime ago I was talking with a friend and she told me it was hard choosing the right attractions for her little ones. So I'll be doing a guide here about visiting Disneyland Paris with little children (age 0-5).
Going to Disneyland is amazing and a great experience for young and old. But sometimes it's difficult deciding if your children are old enough to enjoy Disneyland.
The first thing you have to keep in mind: Children will think Disneyland and everything in there is real. All the figures, the attractions, everything is really in their eyes. Ofcourse this means they will love to meet the characters, but it also means they will be more scared of all the scary things. Disney has a lot of movies with good vs. bad and good can't exist if there isn't any bad.
The things you might wanna consider these 2 points:
- Do your children like Disney movies? (there are parents who go to Disneyland with their children and the children don't know that many or any disney characters. This means they don't enjoy Disneyland as much as they could)
- How long do you want to go to Disneyland? (Young children need a lot of rest. When you have kids who need to sleep, keep in mind that you will be missing time in Disneyland or your children might get really tired.)
- How old are your children? (Going to Disneyland with very young children isn't really a problem. There are great facilities and there is even a babyswitch. But you can't take them on most of the rides and they won't remember a thing from what happend there.)
When you are going to Disneyland, here are some tips to enjoy your time with the little ones more.
- Fantasyland is the place to be with little children. They will love it's a small world, Peter Pan, Dumbo, Alice's curious Labyrinth, Mad hatters teacups, Casey Jr. and the boats (les pays des contees de fees). There are a lot of characters and everything has a lot of color.
Keep in mind: Pinocchio and Snow white are quite scary rides. They are dark and there are a lot of scary things going on. Alice's curious Labyrinth has the scary queen of hearts, but you can just run past that.
- Children love the parades. There are a lot of characters and the music is great. On busy days it might be hard to get in front, so being on time is important.
- Adventureland and Frontierland have great playing areas for little children. So when you are a bit tired, go there and let your kids play.
- In some of the restaurants you can dine, lunch or have breakfast with the disney characters. It's much easier to talk to them, talke pictures and get autographes.
- Plan your trip as good as you can. Don't go full days with the little ones. They will get very tired and you will end up with sleeping or grumpy kids. I've seen it lots of times and most of the parents regret going full days.
